A Love Letter to Japan, Akiya Hunting and Photography in HokkaidoAbout 25 years ago I was in Holland. In a bar. Drunk. Just out of university and I just out of a relationship with my Dutch girlfriend. I was probably a little sad and definitely drinking a little too much. Anyway, here I am, drunk, again. At this bar, hanging out with my expat friends and I go to the bathroom. On the way I see a wall full of postcards, adverts for whatever, common at the time in Europe. One particular post card caught my eye. I stopped and took a closer look. It was a white postcard with a round, red sun in the middle and a silhouette of an airplane against the sun. Underneath, in Dutch, it said, “Why don’t you move to Japan?” I grabbed the card and in a week I was gone. Click on the Video for more. Aloha, Lee
