These little ones always made me smile. Working Denali National Park can be difficult. Long days in a huge and intimidating landscape. Weather can be unpredictable and of course so can the wildlife. Some days you see bears and wolves and others not even a bear's butt on the park road. But you will always see Arctic Ground Squirrels and it's likely they'll make you smile, too. And if you are anything like me, you'll find them encouraging you to keep on exploring. And that's a good thing because Denali rewards those who persevere.
